Alberto Oggero

Piedmont

Set just across the Tanaro River from the famed Langhe, Alberto embraced a challenge that would come to define his approach: creating exceptional Nebbiolo from Roero on its own terms, without imitation or comparison. Rather than competing, he focused on process—drawing out the unique expression of the land through careful, deliberate craftsmanship.

His journey began in 2009 with the restoration of his family’s ancestral home and cellar, alongside the inheritance of his grandfather’s vineyards. From that point forward, Alberto committed himself fully to the work, personally overseeing nearly every stage of production—from vineyard management to vinification—with a hands-on, detail-oriented approach and minimal intervention.

That philosophy is rooted in a lifelong connection to the land. As a child, Alberto spent countless hours in the vineyards with his grandfather, Sandro, developing an intuitive understanding of the vines that later guided his formal oenological studies in Alba. Returning to Roero with both tradition and technical knowledge, he refined a method centered on precision, patience, and respect for the character of each varietal, particularly Nebbiolo and Arneis.

The result is a collection of wines shaped as much by intention as by terroir—crafted through a disciplined, thoughtful process that allows Roero’s distinct identity to emerge with clarity and confidence.
