Domaine Benoît Cantin covers 13.5 hectares and has been a staple of Irancy for many generations. Benoît took over in 1994 and hopes to pass down the legacy to his children, Felicien and Emeline, in a few years. Benoît is currently still working on the property with his father Bernard. Though not organically certified, Benoît Cantin is built upon the philosophy to respect nature and the terroir.  Irancy is located in burgundy, in the district of Yonne, at 18Km from Chablis. The village of Irancy is in the Bottom of an Amphitheatre cover by 160 hectars of vine plots (20 growers). The average yearly production is 80000 cases.



The grapes are Pinot Noir and up to 10% Cesar in the blend.  The soil is limestone, marl and clay from the Kimmeridgien. The average yield is 45 Hl/ Ha.  This Irancy is a blend of grapes from different area of the appellation (Grande Côte, Croix Rouge, Les Traces).  Hand harvested, grapes are sorted in the vineyard.  Fermeted in a concrete vat underground using the traditional burgundy process: stemming, cold maceration before fermentation, pigeage during the fermentation phase.  100% aged in oak barrel for 10 to 12 months (new to 5 or 6 years old).
