Domaine Louis Lequin et Fils

Burgundy

The Lequin family has been rooted in Santenay for generations, and Domaine Louis Lequin et Fils represents one of the most traditional branches of this storied clan. René Lequin and his sons manage vineyards in Santenay, Chassagne-Montrachet, and beyond, working with the limestone-clay soils that define the southernmost reaches of the Côte de Beaune. The Chassagne-Montrachet Premier Cru Morgeot is the jewel of the domaine—a powerful, mineral white from one of the appellation's most celebrated Premier Cru sites, combining the richness of Chassagne with the stony precision of Morgeot's distinctive soils. The Santenay Les Charmes offers a more approachable entry point into the domaine's philosophy: structured, earthy Pinot Noir with the kind of old-fashioned Burgundian character that has become increasingly rare. Winemaking is traditional, with modest use of oak and an emphasis on letting the wines develop slowly and honestly in bottle over time.
