Geoffrey de Noüel

Loire Valley

Geoffrey de Noüel works across multiple Touraine appellations—Chinon, Sainte Maure de Touraine, and the broader Touraine zone—producing wines that reflect the Loire's extraordinary diversity of terroirs and styles within a compact geographic area. His Chinon Les Noraies is a Cabernet Franc from the gravelly alluvial soils and tufa limestone that characterize this storied appellation, producing a wine of classic Loire freshness with the dark fruit and earthy depth that Chinon is celebrated for. The Sainte Maure de Touraine Le Clos de La Peurvie comes from a lesser-known but historically significant appellation for both red and white, offering a compelling alternative to the more famous Chinon. L'Affreux Jojo—the name translates roughly as "the dreadful scoundrel"—is an entry-level Touraine rouge that leans into fun and accessibility without sacrificing the sense of place that distinguishes Loire from generic French red. De Noüel's approach is grounded in sustainable farming and cellar restraint.
