Manoir de la Tête
Loire Valley
Manoir de la Tête is a small Saumur estate producing Cabernet Franc-based reds from the Loire's famous tufa limestone terroir—the underground rock that gives Saumur its distinct character and connects the region's vineyards to its network of historic cave cellars. The Saumur Rouge Bagatelle is an entry-level expression of the appellation, designed for early drinking and maximum versatility: light-bodied, with the cool red fruit and pencil-shaving quality of Loire Cabernet Franc, it is a perfect restaurant pour or picnic wine. The Tête d'Ange steps up in concentration and length, revealing more of the tufa soil's mineral fingerprint and the structure that allows Loire Cabernet Franc to age gracefully. The estate's name refers to its historic manor house, which anchors vineyards farmed with respect for the traditional practices that have made Saumur one of the Loire's most food-friendly and age-worthy appellations. These are wines of quiet confidence and genuine regional character.
